Find Balance Through the Transition

Perimenopause can bring irregular cycles, lighter sleep, night sweats, shifting moods, and energy that comes and goes. Personalized acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and lifestyle guidance help steady your system through these transition years. If you are working with your doctor on hormone therapy or other care, acupuncture can be used alongside it.

A 12-week program combining weekly clinical acupuncture, Shibashi qigong lessons, and science-backed lifestyle guidance.

The Program

What’s Included

Weekly Acupuncture Sessions

Same time every week for 12 weeks. Treatment adjusts to your symptoms, your cycle if you are still cycling, and what your body is telling us.

Herbal Support

Personalized Chinese herbal recommendations to work alongside your acupuncture. Herbs are sourced through us (cost billed separately based on your formula).

Weekly Lifestyle Consultation

During each acupuncture appointment, we talk about what’s working in your body, adjustments to make, and how you’re implementing lifestyle changes.

Shibashi Qigong Lessons

Five weekly qigong lessons are included. You’ll learn the 18 movements of the Shibashi form and the Chinese medicine philosophy of health behind them, giving you a simple daily practice that supports your treatment between visits.

Working With the Transition

How Treatment Adapts Through Perimenopause

Every woman’s transition is different. These are common patterns we work with, and we adjust to your own rhythm.

Cycle Changes

Irregular or Heavy Periods

Treatment focuses on regulating flow and supporting the Spleen and Liver so cycles become steadier. Lifestyle: rest during your period, warm nourishing foods, gentle movement.

Sleep and Night Sweats

Nourish Yin

We emphasize nourishing yin and blood and calming the Heart so sleep deepens and night heat settles. Lifestyle: an evening wind-down routine, less alcohol and late caffeine.

Mood and Stress

Smooth Liver Qi

Irritability, anxiety, and emotional swings often reflect Liver qi that isn’t flowing smoothly. Treatment calms and moves. Lifestyle: daily movement, breathwork or qigong, stress reduction.

Energy and Vitality

Kidney Reserve

We support the Kidneys, the body’s deep reserve, to steady energy and resilience for the years ahead. Lifestyle: consistent sleep, pacing yourself, specific nutrition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Acupuncture can be used alongside hormone therapy or hormonal birth control. Let me know what you’re taking so I can plan treatment and any herbal recommendations with that in mind.

Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause. It often begins in your 40s, sometimes earlier. Changes in your cycle, sleep, mood, or body temperature are common signs. Your doctor can help confirm where you are, and we can begin treatment either way.

We simply shift the focus of treatment. Many of the same patterns carry through, and you can continue with the Menopause Renewal Program if you’d like ongoing support.

Life happens. If you miss a week, we reschedule as soon as possible so we keep the momentum going.

The acupuncture program is $1,500 and stands alone. Herbs are recommended but optional. Herbal formulas are billed separately based on what your body needs.

We’ll have data. We’ll know what’s working and what isn’t. At that point, we can discuss next steps together, including adjusting the treatment plan or coordinating with your other healthcare providers.
